Getting into a WT Routine is tough. The more I do it, the easier it is, but for now its tough getting back into that every other day routine. Today, my muscles are sore from yesterday’s workout.

I’ve been back to the gym for three visits as of this entry. The first visit was not the best, but I was sore for a few days after. This past Saturday, I started my new “plan” and will be going three times per week as instructed by the doctor. I went yesterday and I’ll go again tomorrow. I like going in on Saturday’s but I guess it really doesn’t matter which days I go in – as long as I get there before many other people do.

I picked up a new software package called “Private Coach 2″ and am slowly getting to know it. It’s not the best interface, but there are a lot of features.  Support has been great with Martin Menzel, but I have a feeling it’s another small company like Radium Technologies (who develop Diet Pro 2005).  As with Diet Pro there is a lack of updates (due to a single developer who is working on many projects) and so its going to be a while (2011) by the time a new version comes out. Private Coach 2′s is built using Java and there are some missing “Windows” features and feelings. I really hope that evolves overtime and gets better.

On the work front, I’m still keeping very busy with more and more work coming my way. Overall it’s still enjoyable, but there are times where I just can’t seem to focus on any one thing. I need to watch out for that and make sure I’m not starting to burn out.  Yesterday I seemed to make several mistakes – the first one was when I fixed something and applied other changes before I meant to – and then had to scramble to run utilities to insert missing data for the new structures. It would have been better had I taken some precautionary steps to prevent it, but it is what it is.

Today was another early morning; Lacie decided that around 1:30 AM was the time to start bothering me. I was able to put her off until about 2:30 AM and then finally gave up. I went to bed too early last night and today I’m going to pay for it. I guess I’ll have to keep the caffeine levels high to make it through the day.

Last night was my final (16th) workout with Paul under the Fit Beginnings program. Its a great program and I recommend it to anyone in the Columbia, MD area. It does require a referral from your doctor, but for 60 days and 16 personal training sessions its a deal. Paul made me feel good last night too. After my workout we sat for a while to talk about “what’s next” and he said he enjoyed working with me. I had the good attitude and knew what I was after.

I’m still waiting for my membership contract to arrive, but my check cleared last week. I now need to rework my workout schedule to account for different times Paul will be available as a personal trainer. Most likely I’ll switch to Wednesday and Friday evenings and then a Sunday workout. Then there is the matter of the additional costs. I can save a few bucks by buying more sessions at once, but it starts at $60 per hour for Paul’s Elite rate. I can drop that per session cost to $52 per session if I buy 6 sessions at once. I’ll most likely go that route and then spread those out over a month.  Instead of meeting with Paul at every workout session, I’ll meet with him every other session or every other two sessions. Really I need to know things like how much to increase the weight on which machines and things like that. I’ve pretty much got the routines down that we’ve been doing, but we’re going to try and update the routines as well. For example, last week, Paul adjusted the distance between my feet and my hips in the seated leg press. That made me work harder using the same amount of weight.

Finished my second book on the Kindle. I’m not sure what I’ll be reading next, most likely I’ll finish the book UR by Stephen King. It was written specifically for the Kindle and is about a Kindle.  I have a few samples of some other books that I may read. That’s the other cool thing about the Kindle. You can download Samples of books (basically the first chapter) and if you like it, its easy to purchase right away.

Anyway, today is Wednesday and is an official “rest” day (from workouts, still gotta work).  Its time for me to have some breakfast and get ready for the virtual grind stone.
